Where am I?

The Guildhouse is my home page. It's grown up from simple beginnings back in 1995, to being pretty large and scary. Perhaps a little bit of history will help.

I play an online roleplaying game, called Avalon. I've written a lot of material over the years, and collected a lot from other people. The website is a way of bringing all that help material together. It now hosts several private areas, with message boards, guides, tips and general useful material. Even outside the private areas, there are some good 'public access' bits.

However, I felt I could do a lot more with the website than just cater for the 80 odd people with access to the private areas (and the 100 or so who have access, but shouldn't!)

Ergo, I have now started maintaining a proper links database, and a big selection of jokes. Go on, post one of your own - you know you want to!

It would please me no end to have you read through some of the stuff in here, and then stick a comment in the Forum, even if it's just to say hi in the guestbook! Enjoy...

What do I do?

The site navigation is split into two areas. Across the top bar are the 'major' areas - each button leads to a new area, whether it's about me, my links, or the forum. Each area should hopefully be self explanatory, but if not, here's a list of what's in each area:

Entrance - the first destination of the Guildhouse. If you're reading this, you're in part of the entrance. There's the news and journal, and this guide.
Avalon - a section dedicated to the online RPG, Avalon.
Me - all about me, James Gater, obviously.
Links - my rapidly growing links database. I quite happily accept links from other people, like homepages, funny sites, or whatever. If you think it's a good site, then submit it in the links page.
Jokes - A collection of many of the jokes I've received in my email over the years.
Gallery - a fairly small but oddball collection of graphics.
Search - Seach the Web at large, or just my site.
Forum - have your say. Multiple bulletin boards there.
Email me - Just what it says. email me using your own mail client, or the browser based supplied form.
Skins - Choose your theme (i.e. colours and layout) for the site.

Within each of these sections, there are usually sub sections. If there are, you can get to them either using the links in the main (white) area, or there are additional navigation shortcuts on the left hand toolbar that change dependent upon the section you're in.

This site will look much better in a browser that supports current web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.
